Prince Orhomonokpaye, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, expressed gratitude to God for the recent victory at the Supreme Court affirming Governor Oborevwori’s win in the Delta State governorship poll held on March 18, 2023. Governor Oborevwori, representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), secured the victory nearly two months after the Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal upheld his election.

In a congratulatory letter, Orhomonokpaye thanked Almighty God for inspiring the Nigerian Judiciary to uphold the votes of the people of Delta State. He acknowledged the challenges posed by opposition forces, particularly the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its gubernatorial candidate Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, but noted that the victory at the Supreme Court was not surprising, given the clear signs of Deltans’ unwavering support for Governor Oborevwori and the PDP.

Orhomonokpaye used the opportunity to extend heartfelt congratulations to the people of Delta State, emphasizing their resolute stand in favor of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the PDP since the 2023 general elections. He highlighted that despite distractions and misleading tactics employed by the APC, Deltans stood by their choice, affirming that Governor Oborevwori and the PDP remained the preferred and best choice for the state.

The victory at the Supreme Court was seen as a validation of the people’s mandate and a testament to the confidence placed in Governor Oborevwori and the PDP by the citizens of Delta State.
