The jubilant atmosphere reflects the relief and joy felt by the people of Kano after the prolonged period of electoral uncertainty.
Governor Abba Yusuf expressed his happiness and satisfaction with the Supreme Court’s judgment. Speaking to newsmen at the apex court in Abuja, he thanked everyone for their support and prayers throughout the seven months of his administration. The governor emphasized that the Supreme Court’s decision confirmed the legitimacy of the election, addressing concerns about alleged illegal ballot papers.
Yusuf stated, “The Supreme Court has confirmed that there is no illegality as far as the election is concerned. They were saying illegal ballot papers. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed that the ballot papers belong to them, they were issued by them. The Supreme Court justices have just confirmed also that there is no illegality, so people are aware.”
