In a breaking development, subscribers of Globacom (Glo) may soon find themselves unable to make calls to MTN lines, as a consequence of unresolved interconnect charges. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) made this revelation in a public notice on Monday, signed by Reuben Muoka, the Director of the Public Affairs Department.

The notice disclosed that the NCC has granted partial approval for the disconnection of Globacom from MTN Nigeria Communications Plc. According to the statement, Globacom was informed of MTN’s application and provided an opportunity to present its case.

The notice further outlined that, after 10 days from the date of the announcement, subscribers of Globacom will lose the ability to make calls to MTN numbers but will still be able to receive calls. The partial disconnection is specified to permit inbound calls to the Globacom network.

Further details on this matter are expected to be provided soon.
