    NiMet Predicts Three Days of Sunshine and Haziness

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted three days of sunshine and haziness across the country from Monday to Wednesday. According to NiMet’s weather outlook released in Abuja, the northern region and north-central states are expected to experience sunny skies and a hazy atmosphere during this period.

    On Monday, NiMet predicts sunny skies with a hazy atmosphere over the northern region and north-central states. Patches of cloud in a hazy atmosphere are anticipated in the morning over inland cities of the south and coastal areas. There may also be early morning mist in some southern states.

    Localized thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon and evening over parts of Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Bayelsa states. The north and north-central states are likely to experience a sunny and hazy atmosphere throughout the forecast period.

    On Tuesday, NiMet foresees sunny and hazy weather over the northern and north-central states. In the morning, patches of cloud in a hazy atmosphere are expected in the inland cities of the south and the coastal belt. Localized thunderstorms are anticipated in the afternoon and evening over select southern states.

    Wednesday’s forecast includes sunny skies with a hazy atmosphere over the northern region and north-central states. The inland cities of the south and the coastal belt may experience patches of cloud in a hazy atmosphere in the morning. Localized thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon and evening over parts of Delta, Rivers, and Bayelsa states.

    NiMet advises the public to take necessary precautions due to suspended dust particles. People with asthma and respiratory issues should be cautious. Airline operators are urged to obtain updated weather reports from NiMet for effective planning, and citizens are advised to take necessary safety precautions, especially in areas where strong winds may precede or accompany thunderstorms. Disaster risk managers, agencies, and individuals are encouraged to be proactive to prevent loss of lives and property.
