Abuja — The Federal Government of Nigeria has initiated discussions with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to Nigeria, Salem Saeed Alshamsi, and Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, to garner support for its school feeding program. Dr. Yetunde Adeniji, the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on School Feeding, disclosed this development in a statement issued in Abuja.*

The engagement took place during the celebration of the 52nd United Arab Emirates National Day, where Adeniji’s delegation met with the UAE ambassador and Governor Uba Sani. The statement highlighted the commitment of the Kaduna State Government to support the school feeding program and its eagerness to continue being one of the best states designated for such initiatives.

During the meeting, Governor Uba Sani expressed pride in the school feeding program and affirmed Kaduna’s commitment to maintaining excellence in line with the federal school feeding program. The UAE Ambassador commended the school feeding initiative, acknowledging the proactive approach taken by the SSA and commending the administration of President Bola Tinubu for addressing various challenges facing the country.

This strategic engagement underscores the government’s efforts to strengthen collaboration and garner support for its social intervention programs, particularly in the area of education and child welfare. As the discussions progress, the outcome is anticipated to contribute positively to the ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing the well-being of Nigerian schoolchildren.
