The Lamidi Apapa-led faction of the Labour Party (LP) expresses confidence in Mahmood Yakubu, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In a statement, spokesperson Abayomi Arabambi praised INEC’s achievements during the 2023 elections. The statement was issued in response to allegations from the Julius Abure-led faction, which the Apapa-led faction deemed “unfortunate and unfounded.” The Apapa-led faction supports INEC’s legal practices and commends the commission for its diligent efforts in conducting the 2023 elections. The statement concludes with a vote of confidence passed on INEC Chairman Prof Mahmood Yakubu by the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Alh Bashiru Lamidi Apapa, and the National Working Committee.
