Kenyan-Canadian actress Lupita Nyong’o, widely recognized for her role in “Black Panther,” has revealed that she has ended her relationship with TV host Selema Masekela.

Nyong’o took to her Instagram account on Thursday night to confirm that her romance with the American sports commentator has come to an end, less than a year after they made their relationship official.

In a candid Instagram post, the 40-year-old actress cited “deception” as the primary reason for their breakup. Her heartfelt message included the words, “It has become necessary for me to share a personal truth and publicly distance myself from someone I can no longer place my trust in. I find myself in a season of heartbreak, brought about by a love that was abruptly and painfully extinguished due to deception.”
