    Final Moments as Late Akintola Williams is Laid to Rest

    In a poignant moment marked by mixed emotions, the remains of Nigeria’s first indigenous chartered accountant, Akintola Williams, arrived at the Muson Center in Lagos for his burial. The funeral ceremony, held in his honor, was attended by prominent figures including Zenith Bank Chairman Jim Ovia, CEO of Troyka Holdings Limited Biodun Sobanjo, and Pastor Mrs. Ifeanyi Adefarasin, among others.

    Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and other influential industry leaders were also present to pay their last respects. The event commenced with a touching performance by the Muson Choir and Orchestra, conducted by Emeka Nwokedi, reflecting the significance of the occasion.

    Akintola Williams, who passed away at the age of 104 on September 11, 2023, was laid to rest with honors and reverence, marking the end of an era in Nigeria’s financial history.
