Inspector Charity Oyor of the Anambra State Police Command has been recognized and rewarded for her exemplary conduct. On duty in Onitsha, Inspector Oyor noticed a vehicle loaded with cables that aroused her suspicion. When she attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver offered her a bribe. However, she declined the bribe, instead choosing to call for backup.

Subsequent investigations by the police revealed that the cables in the vehicle were indeed stolen goods. For her integrity and diligence in the face of bribery, Inspector Charity Oyor has been rewarded by the Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye, with a cash sum of N250,000.

A press release by the state police command’s spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, detailed the incident and the commendable actions of Inspector Oyor. The Commissioner of Police praised her uprightness and lauded her for maintaining the highest ethical standards in her duty.

The Commissioner also recognized the DPO, Superintendent Joy Chidinma Ikpeama, for her leadership in ensuring that officers under her command uphold their professional ethics. Adeoye stressed the importance of maintaining the integrity of the police force by refusing to compromise while discharging official duties.

The Commissioner further ordered the State CID Awka to investigate the source of the used cables. This gesture not only rewards Inspector Oyor’s actions but also underscores the commitment of the police force to uphold honesty and professionalism within its ranks.
