President Bola Tinubu announced that the Federal Government of Nigeria has saved over N1 trillion in two months since the removal of petrol subsidy. He stated that this money, previously exploited by “smugglers and fraudsters,” will now be directed towards intervention programs benefiting families across the country. Despite acknowledging the temporary hardships resulting from delayed palliative measures, he urged Nigerians to trust in the government’s ability to deliver and assured them that their well-being is a priority. Tinubu emphasized that the saved funds will be utilized more effectively to benefit the citizens and pledged to steer the nation out of the economic challenges with the measures already taken by his administration.
