Youths of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State have rejected the re-election bid of Jimi Odimayo, the lawmaker representing the Okitipupa–Irele Federal Constituency.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the youths, led by Adewale Adefua, said the time had come for a change in representation at the National Assembly.
They expressed support for Bidemi Obayangban, Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Forestry, describing him as a more capable alternative.
“We have seen the positive impact Hon. Obayangban has made in our community. It is time for a change, and we believe he is the right person to represent us,” Adefua said.
Also speaking, another youth leader, Ajibade Omogunoye, cited Obayangban’s humility and passion for community development.
“We are backing Obayangban because of his humility and commitment to our people. We believe he can deliver the change we need, despite our kinsman, Odimayo, seeking re-election,” he said.
