Zamfara ADC demands resolution of dispute over two unannounced nominees

    Published on

The Zamfara State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on the party’s national leadership to urgently resolve a dispute surrounding the omission of two nominees from recently announced national positions.

ADC State Chairman, Yusuf Sa’id, speaking at a press briefing in Gusau, said the North-West coalition nominated Dr. Mika’ilu Barau (Deputy National Organising Secretary) and Amina Iliyasu (Deputy National Women’s Representative for Persons Living with Disabilities). However, he alleged that the names were not announced by the electoral officer, Lawal Batagarawa, during the election held at Treasure Hotel, Abuja.

According to Sa’id, the state chapter petitioned the national leadership and issued a 14-day ultimatum to correct the anomaly, but no action has been taken.

He warned that the omission was “undemocratic” and risked sparking chaos if unresolved. “We call on the national leaders to do the needful to save the coalition from an unnecessary crisis,” Sa’id said.
