Victor Osimhen will not play for Galatasaray against AZ Alkmaar in  Europa League

    Published on

Since joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli, Victor Osimhen has been an exceptional player, so this is very frustrating for him and the team.

In an exciting match against Ajax, where he scored a late goal in a 2-1 loss, Osimhen, who has had a big impact on Turkish football, received his third yellow card of the season.

The timing of his ban is especially important as Galatasaray looks to bounce back from their recent group stage setbacks, when they finished 14th in the rankings after two draws and a loss in their last games.

With five goals in six games this season, the Nigerian international is just two goals behind the tournament’s top scorers and has been a key member of Galatasaray in the Europa League. He has demonstrated his capacity to produce on the continental stage with an excellent total of nine goals in 14 competition appearances.

The club, which is already struggling due to more injuries to important players, will undoubtedly feel the effects of Osimhen’s absence. Due to a variety of injuries, manager Okan Buruk will also have to deal with the absence of Mauro Icardi, Yunus Akgun, and Ismail Jakobs. The team will also be further reduced when Davinson Sanchez and Lucas Torreira are added to Osimhen’s suspension list.

Alvaro Morata and Carlos Cuesta, who are eligible for selection after being registered in the Europa League squad, are fresh additions to Galatasaray’s roster in an effort to bolster the team. However, because they were not registered, Ahmed Kutucu, Mario Lemina, and Przemyslaw Frankowski will not be playing for the team.

Galatasaray is eager to maximize the ability of its remaining players and achieve a positive outcome as they get ready for this crucial match at the AFAS Stadion. The winner of the two-leg match will advance to play either Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur in the round of 16 the following month, thus the stakes are high.
