VeryDarkMan leads protest at FCT Minister’s gate over prolonged teachers’ strike

    Published on

VeryDarkMan (VDM) staged a protest at the gate of FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike in Abuja over the ongoing teachers’ strike affecting primary school pupils.

VDM held the protest on Monday, June 23, dressed in school uniform. The strike, which began on March 24, 2025, is due to the Area Council Chairmen’s failure to implement the new N70,000 national minimum wage for teachers.

Schoolchildren dressed in uniforms participated in the protest. VDM taught the children letters of the alphabet with pointed political references, including “T for Tinubu” and “W for Wike”.

The teachers’ strike has lasted over 90 days, disrupting education for thousands of children in the capital.

The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, reportedly released N4.1 billion for wage implementation, but the funds were allegedly diverted by council chairmen under the guise of “signature allowance”.
