    Tyla,  musician from South Africa, is first African to host Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards

    Tyla, a musician from South Africa, will become the first person from Africa to host the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.

    On Thursday, the 2025 edition’s host and candidates were revealed by the organizers.

    The program, which will be broadcast live from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California on June 21, will be hosted by the Grammy-winning South African star.

    Additionally, Tyla received two nominations for “Show Me Love” with WizTheMc and “Bees & Honey” for Favorite Global Music Star and Favorite Music Collaboration.

    With four nominations apiece, Kendrick Lamar, Ariana Grande, and Lady Gaga were the top three candidates for the 2025 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. With three nominations apiece, Selena Gomez, Dwayne Johnson, Jelly Roll, and Jack Black are in hot pursuit.

    “I’m really about to host the kids choice awards,” Tyla posted on X on Thursday night in response to her most recent accomplishment.
