    Troops Eliminate 165 Terrorists, Arrest 185, Rescue 106 Kidnap Victims in a Week

    In a week of intensive operations, Nigerian troops have killed 165 terrorists, arrested 185 individuals, and rescued 106 kidnap victims. Additionally, they recovered 145 weapons and 8,926 rounds of ammunition.

    The Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj-Gen Edward Buba, provided these details in a statement on Friday, September 13. The recovered weapons include 69 AK47 rifles, 31 locally fabricated guns, 38 Dane guns, 2 PKT guns, and various ammunition types, such as 3,112 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo and 3,094 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammo.

    In operations conducted in the Niger Delta region, the troops seized 1,239,400 liters of stolen crude oil, 308,195 liters of illegally refined diesel, and 1,120 liters of kerosene.

    Maj-Gen Buba assured that the military will maintain its robust operations against terrorism and violent extremism, emphasizing their commitment to securing the country.
