Speaking at the final funeral service at St John’s Military Church, Bonny Cantonment, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Saturday, the Governor said the former Minister of Police Affairs was one of Ekiti’s most illustrious sons and a rare breed in Nigerian politics.

Governor Oyebanji praised Olubolade’s meritorious service to the Nigerian Armed Forces, his sterling record in public office, and his devotion to his community and state.

Governor Oyebanji said, “As I listened to the tributes, especially from his children, I saw deep emotions and profound respect.

“At moments like this, there are questions without answers, but I urge you to let God carry you through this difficult time.”

The solemn ceremony drew an array of dignitaries including former President Goodluck Jonathan (represented by his wife, Dame Patience Jonathan), Bayelsa State Governor Duoye Diri, Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, Ekiti’s first civilian Governor Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, and former PDP Deputy National Chairman Chief Olabode George.
