Transfer: Why we failed to sign Osimhen- Al-Hilal

    Published on

Al-Hilal president, Fahad Bin Nafal, has given two reasons why they failed to land Victor Osimhen and other major signings so far this summer.

Bin Nafal blamed “illogical” counter offers and fatigue.

The Saudi Pro League side have appointed Simone Inzaghi as their new manager, only days after he lost the Champions League final with Inter Milan.

However, Al-Hilal have been unsuccessful in their attempts to sign Osimhen, AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez and Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes despite high financial packages being offered.

They also failed to lure Cristiano Ronaldo from rivals Al-Nassr despite the attractive option of playing in the Club World Cup.

“We’ve spoken with many players, but they want to go on vacation after a long season,” Bin Nafal said.

“We tried to sign several players before the World Cup, but were unsuccessful due to lack of time and faced illogical offers.”
