Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has attributed Anyim Pius Anyim’s recent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the impactful work of President Bola Tinubu. Governor Nwifuru stated that Tinubu’s efforts to improve Nigeria were a key factor in attracting Anyim, the former Senate President, to the ruling party.

Nwifuru, who made these comments while addressing journalists on Wednesday after presenting Anyim to President Tinubu alongside Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, suggested that the APC’s ongoing policies and achievements have been influential in swaying politicians from the South East to join the party.

He emphasized that Anyim’s move to the APC was not driven by personal gain or job-seeking motives. “Anyim is not joining APC for financial reasons or employment. His decision is based on the leadership and progress demonstrated by President Tinubu and the APC,” Nwifuru explained.

Anyim Pius Anyim echoed these sentiments, stating that his decision to join the APC was motivated by a commitment to contribute positively to the country’s future. He stressed that his primary focus is on ensuring Nigeria progresses on the right path and affirmed that he is not seeking any job or financial reward through his political shift.
