Timi Dakolo –My car used to embarrass my wife

    Published on

Timi Dakolo, a well-known singer, has talked about how he met Busola.

The vocalist of “Iyawo mi” disclosed that he met his wife at church and emphasized that although she wasn’t originally interested in a romantic relationship, he persisted.

When he picked her up with the branded Picanto he won from the first season of Idols West Africa in 2007, he recalled, she used to feel humiliated.

“I met my wife in the church,” Dakolo stated in a recent interview with Pulse. I approached her and invited her to go to a ball with me. When I called, she didn’t answer the phone, but she did give me her number. In the hopes of seeing her again, I continued to visit the neighborhood. When I asked her one day why she wasn’t returning my calls, she claimed that her phone had been stolen.

I felt sorry for her, and we grew close. She tried to friend-zone me once I began to feel something for her, but I resisted. To gain her love, I endured pain. I was driving her to and from work. When I used to pick her up with the branded Picanto I had won from Nigerian Idols, she used to feel ashamed. “All right, don’t worry,” I said. I’m going to startle you. Do not belittle me. And I did.

Following their 2012 marriage, the singer and Busola have welcomed three children together.
