Super Eagles will qualify for 2026 World Cup, says Osayi-Samuel

Super Eagles defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel, has thrown his weight behind his team’s quest for a 2026 World Cup ticket.

He affirmed that in spite of the Super Eagles inconsistent outings so far in the qualifiers the team will scale through to the mundial.

Osayi Samuel stated this on Tuesday afternoon in a chat with reporters at the Samuel Ogbemudia, Benin City.

“I still think we can qualify. The aim is just to win every single game. We believe in our team. Though it will be difficult, but for us and the team, I think we have a good chance,” he stated.

He heaped praises on the team’s head coach, Eric Chelle whom he described as a fantastic coach who could turn this around for the better for the Super Eagles.

“For me, the coach is fantastic. The way he wants us to press and run; I think everyone in the team is aligned to his ideas,” he said.

Assessing the Super Eagles performances in recent times he stated: “In our last game against Russia, we contained a team that has not lost in six or seven matches. If we keep working together, we have a good chance,” he stressed.
