Stop politicizing killings, give us chance, Ribadu said Benue indigenous

Benue State residents have been encouraged by National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu to refrain from politicizing the state’s murders and allow President Bola Tinubu’s administration to put things right.
He bemoaned the terrible government, especially the insecurity, that Tinubu and his administration inherited.

When he traveled to Benue State on Tuesday to express his sympathies to the government and people over the murder of more than 72 people by terrorists posing as herdsmen, he made this statement.

“Our Armed Forces are doing well,” Ribadu declared. Every hamlet cannot have cops or military stationed there. Please don’t politicize the killings and give us a chance. This will assist us in bringing peace back. Security is a relative issue.

“Things have improved since we took over from a very poor government, and we will deal with any new problems that arise.

“It’s just a matter of time; causing harm is simple, but fixing it is challenging. The amount of violence we have encountered has significantly decreased. We’re going to face this one too.

Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia said that it was a sobering time for the state, which has been under severe siege since 2011 and has seen unthinkable death tolls.

According to Naija News, within the past two weeks, Benue and Plateau States have seen an increase in attacks and fatalities.

New violence broke out in the early hours of Tuesday, only one week after suspected armed herders slaughtered more than fifty farmers in various sections of Benue State.

Eleven persons were killed and numerous others were injured when gunmen raided the Afia hamlet in the Ukum Local Government Area.
