Stakeholders Urges FG To Reject Divisive Voices In The Niger Delta

….Calls For Focus On Unity And Progress

Concerned stakeholders identified as Niger Delta Renaissance Youth Network, have called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to decisively reject the influence of divisive figures in the Niger Delta, such as Boyloaf, Ayeri Emami, amongst others stating that these individuals have been in the business of allegedly promoting narratives and actions that threatens the unity and stability of the region.

The group In a statement signed by it’s spokesperson Comrade Simon Ogbe, on Tuesday, disclosed that the Niger Delta, a critical hub for Nigeria’s economic stability due to its vast oil resources, has long faced challenges including environmental degradation, underdevelopment, and social unrest and to address these issues, the federal government established the Presidential Amnesty Program (PAP), aimed at rehabilitating former militants, promoting socio-economic development, and fostering peace in the region.

It said “In recent years, the presidential amnesty program has gained significant traction under the leadership of Dr. Dennis Otuaro, who is widely regarded as a result-oriented administrator. We laud Dr. Otuaro for his innovative style of bringing technical expertise and impartiality to the program, allowing it to move in the right direction while deli meaningful outcomes to communities.

“His leadership has been described as a cornerstone of the stability currently enjoyed in the Niger Delta. However, the actions of certain individuals, including Boyloaf and Ayeri Emami, is flagged as counterproductive to these efforts. It is widely known that these figures lack genuine political influence or followership in the region, and their involvement is seen as self-serving. We have it under good authority that they are accused of leveraging crises for personal gain rather than contributing to lasting peace.

“It has also been noted that these individuals supported the PDPpresidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in the last election, opposing President Tinubu’s candidacy. Despite the fact that Boyloaf received huge sum of money from president Tinubu’s core allies in Bayelsa State yet the results were not encouraging as Tinubu failed in Southern Ijaw Local Government.

These set of self acclaimed leaders and their social media tap dog by name Jude Gbaboyor are fully known as political betrayers and now turning themselves to be instruments of darkness and blackmails against Mr presidents renewed hope administration all because of greed , hatred and selfishness.

This surely underscores their lack of credibility and capacity to represent the interests of the Niger Delta people.

“Given these concerns, we hereby urge the presidency to focus on engaging with credible leaders, community representatives, and civil society organizations that are genuinely committed to the welfare of the Niger Delta. Prioritizing these voices will ensure that decisions are informed by those with a vested interest in peace, development, and reconciliation.

“ We cannot compromise the fragile peace currently enjoyed in the Niger Delta. It must be preserved through inclusive and constructive dialogue. Allowing divisive figures to influence policies or programs risks undermining the progress made so far and could potentially lead to a regression into conflict.” The statement added.

The stakeholders however, expressed their unwavering support for President Tinubu’s administration and prayed for the success of his leadership in steering the nation toward unity and progress. They urged the presidency to remain steadfast in its commitment to fairness and national interest, particularly in addressing the complexities of the Niger Delta.

This call to action reflects a collective desire to see the Niger Delta become a beacon of hope and resilience, ensuring a brighter future for the region and the nation as a whole.
