Sophia Momodu, the mother of Davido’s first child, has sparked reactions on social media after throwing shade at the singer. Reflecting on a past trip to Disneyland with her daughter Imade, Sophia suggested that Davido had broken a promise to take Imade on such a trip, implying that only she can be relied upon to fulfill promises to her child.

The social media response has been varied:

Previously, Sophia had expressed frustration when Isreal DMW, Davido’s logistics manager, attributed the funding for Imade’s trip to Monaco to Davido, despite Sophia claiming she did not receive money from him. This led to a heated exchange and a private apology from Isreal DMW.

Tensions between Sophia and Davido escalated after he publicly declared his love for his now-wife, Chioma Rowland, and reconciled with her. Sophia expressed her anger through social media, including a post comparing herself to a cat refusing to tolerate disrespect from a dog, and later accused Davido of financial abuse.

In June, Davido sought joint custody of Imade, alleging that Sophia was denying him access and extorting money. Sophia contested this, citing the recent death of Davido’s son and other concerns as reasons she believed Davido was unfit to raise their daughter alone.
