    Published on

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has urged All Progressives Congress (APC) governors to adopt a leadership approach that prioritizes the interests and well-being of the populace. During a meeting with the Progressive Governors Forum in Kaduna, Buhari urged the governors to find a balance for the advancement of the country, characterizing leadership as both a struggle and an opportunity.

Garba Shehu, his spokeswoman, said that Buhari was pleased with the APC governors’ performance and urged them to continue their dedication to Nigeria’s progress. Remarking that he departed office in 2023 with the same personal assets he had when he became president in 2015, he emphasized the value of integrity in public service.

He also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu’s administration for remodeling his Kaduna home, pointing out that although the façade is still recognizable, the interior has seen substantial upgrades.

Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo State and chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, presided over the meeting, which was a component of the Eid-el-Fitr festivities. Buhari was praised by Uzodinma for his lasting impact on the party, as well as for establishing a high bar for governance and a smooth handover of power.

He commended Buhari’s ongoing support for President Tinubu’s administration and outlined some of his major accomplishments during his time in office, including as the expansion of infrastructure, social welfare initiatives, and security improvements.

The governors reiterated their admiration and respect for Buhari’s leadership and legacy while acknowledging his contribution to the APC’s creation.
