    Some UNILORIN students involved in road accident along varsity road

    Some students of the University of Ilorin have sustained varying degrees of injury in a lone auto accident along the university road on Thursday afternoon.

    It was gathered that the accident, which involved a small commercial bus, popularly called “Korope”, was as a result of tyre burst while the bus was on motion.

    It was also gathered that the auto crash, which occurred close to the university gate, saw some of the university security officials trying to manage the situation.

    An eyewitness said that one of the victims of the accident lost her arm, while another female victim was said to appear lifeless on the road.

    The Director, Corporate Affairs of the University, Mr. Kunle Akogun, who confirmed the story, however, said that there was no casualty, adding that those involved in the accident were rushed to the school clinic for treatment.

    In a video of the accident scene that was circulating in the Ilorin metropolis on Thursday, victims of the accident were seen on the road writhing in pain, while a female student with blood on her head, appeared lifeless on the road.

    Another victim, a man in suit, was struggling to stand up, but had lost control of himself and was falling down as he tried to.
