The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, assured the staff of the National Assembly that their welfare would be a priority for the 10th National Assembly. Speaking at the 9th National and States Assembly Service Commissions Conference in Abuja, Akpabio emphasized the commitment of the assembly to support the training, retraining, and capacity building of its staff.

Akpabio highlighted the inclusive role of the parliament, not only in making and improving laws but also in empowering and supporting the people. He called for a united effort to provide the best support for legislators and contribute to the positive transformation of the country.

The Executive Chairman of the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC), Ahmed Amshi, acknowledged the cooperation of the State Assembly Service Commissions and emphasized the importance of mutual relationships in enhancing the operations of the commissions.

Additionally, Prof. Ayo Omotayo, the Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), stressed the need for a national focus in Nigeria’s growth and development. He encouraged individuals, including lawmakers and staff of assemblies, to assume personal responsibility and work towards a collective national goal for a better society.

The conference aimed to strengthen collaboration and enhance the efficiency of the National and State Assembly Service Commissions in their critical roles within the legislative framework of the country.
