.A former Chief Whip of Edo State House of Assembly and Edo North Senator Hopeful, Barrister Paschal Ugbome has described as a ruse the claim by the incumbent Senator representing Edo North in the Senate, Barrister Francis Alimikhena that he (Alimikhena) is the Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in next year’s general elections.Alimikhena who was elected under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) lost the party ticket to it’s former Chairman and former Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole. He defected to PDP in a desperate move to return to the Senate for a third term.Investigation by Daily Newscraft revealed that posters of the Incumbent Senator bearing PDP’s logo are all over the place in Edo North.Reacting to this development Barrister Paschal Ugbome said, “Alimikhena is Daydreaming I’m the authentic Senatorial Candidate of the PDP and by the grace of God I have the People’s mandate to represent Edo North at the National Assembly”Efforts to get the reaction of Senator Alimikhena proved abortive. His number would not connect. He did not also respond to questions sent to him on WhatsApp.
