Founder of the Princess Sylvia Foundation for the less privileged, Amb. Sylvia Sarki has assured of strong grassroots mobilization for the success of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Sarki gave the assurance at the inauguration of newly elected zonal executives of the North-Central chapter of the City Boy Movement in Abuja at the weekend.
Sarki, a pioneer president of the Association of Nigerian Female Students (ANFS), who was inaugurated as the zonal women leader of the movement, thanked the national leadership of the group for deeming it fit to be elected to the position, adding that her election was a recognition of her capacity to handle the responsibility.
“First, when I got the appointment letter, I asked myself what have I done to deserve this honorable appointment, because I know how powerful the movement is, as the movement is being chaired by the son of the president, Seyi Tinubu, we know how he moves and works as the president’s son.
“Although when the movement came on board, I was among the pioneer people who started it in FCT, but because of the kind of people and leadership then and because Seyi was not in the country, I could not have a smooth relationship with the then leadership. But now with the new structure that cuts across even to the grassroots, it means we are ready to deliver by fine-tuning the movement to achieve success for Renew Hope Agenda, as well as the re-election of the president to achieve his goal and vision for Nigeria.
Speaking on her strategies in executing the assignment, Sarki noted that as a grassroots mobilizer of note, her works even before President Tinubu came to power are still visble.
“I have worked and still working for APC since its inception. Even as I have not been rewarded on national level, I am still working because I have hope and believe that Renew Hope Agenda will do better than others.
“To make my leadership different from others is that I will bring in my style of leadership to make the difference from whomever was there before. My style of political leadership and social idea will help a lot to make a difference,” she said.
Also speaking at the inauguration, a board member of the movement representing Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Solomon Adodo said Sarki had been a very sound activist, someone that has the passion for the masses of Nigeria.
Adodo noted that as someone born and bred in the FCT, she knows the pains, the travails and even the challenges of the people of FCT.
“But beyond knowing all these, she is also equipped with the way to tackle them. She knows how to bring solutions to the problems and thereby bring smiles to the people of FCT.
“So having Comrade Sarki on board tells you that there will be strong penetration, not just for the government by words of mouth, but for the sake that people will be excited, pleased and satisfied with what government is doing,” Adodo observed.
