The Police Service Commission (PSC) has released a statement disowning the circulating examination dates for the ongoing recruitment of Nigerian youths into the Constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force. The Commission has urged applicants to disregard any information regarding examination dates found on social media platforms.
This was contained in a statement issued by Ikechukwu Ani, Head Press and Public Relations on Sunday. The PSC emphasized that it has not officially announced any examination date for the recruitment process. The Commission assured applicants that it will notify successful candidates of the examination date and also officially announce it at the appropriate time. The screening exercise has recently concluded in the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Expressing concern over the misleading information, the Commission has directed the Police Cyber-crime Unit to investigate the source of the trending publication and apprehend the culprits for prosecution. The PSC aims to prevent the recruitment exercise from being hijacked and diluted by criminal elements who seek to exploit innocent Nigerian youths.
Prospective applicants are advised to rely solely on official communication and updates issued by the Commission through its recognized media platforms. The PSC has received a fictitious publication on social media claiming that the examination is scheduled for February 14th, 2024. The publication also falsely states that failure to present the NPF Recruitment CBT Exam Slip at the entrance of the exam hall will result in disqualification.
The Commission firmly asserts that this directive did not originate from them and should be disregarded. Additionally, the PSC denies the directive that applicants have from February 7th to February 14th to check their application status.
Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Solomon Arase CFR, a retired Inspector General of Police, has cautioned applicants against falling prey to fraudulent schemes. Dr. Arase emphasized the need for patience and warned against desperation. He assured all candidates that the recruitment process will be fair and that successful candidates will contribute to the nation’s fight against insurgency and banditry, ensuring a united and prosperous Nigeria.
The PSC acknowledges the high expectations of Nigerians regarding this recruitment exercise and promises to meet and exceed those expectations. The Commission calls for patience and support from the public while urging criminals to stay away from the exercise.
For any official updates or information on the ongoing recruitment exercise, applicants are advised to await the Commission’s official statement, which will be communicated through recognized media platforms.
