An Anambra High Court has issued Form 48, threatening to jail six past Executive and Committee Members of Ifite Nteje, Anambra East Local Government for failure to obey court order.

Justice Tagbo Anieto of Otuocha High Court Three had after hearing arguments of the counsels of the plaintiffs and defendants in a Suit No: OT/157/2023 in a land dispute involving the people of Ifite Nteje Quarters in Oyi Local Government Area among other things ordered the cancellation and nullification of all individual sales of Ifite Nteje communal land for being illegal.

When they came to execute the court order on March 20 and 21 this year, some people who were past Executive and Committee Members disrupted it, saying that there was nothing like Court order.

They consequently failed to comply with the judgement of the Court delivered on June 20, 2023 by Justice Anieto.

Those involved in the flagrant disobedience of the order of the Court include : Ifeanyi Nwankwo, Chidi Raymond Igwebuike, Ekene Onyibor, Ifeanyi Henry Nwankwo, Fabian Uwadiegwu, Nebechi Ugwu.

The plaintiffs however obtained Form 48, which is Notice of Consequences of Disobedience of Court Order against them.

The order of the Court warned that unless they obey the directive contained in the court order, they would be guilty of contempt of court and therefore be committed to prison.
