    One military Personnel killed, others critically injured in Road Mishap

    A Military personnel attached to the Operation Delta Safe (OPDS) headquarters in Bayelsa State was yesterday confirmed killed in a fatal road accident along the Uyo-Bori- Onne route of Rivers State.

    Four others were also confirmed critically injured with body parts severed in the motor accident which occured on wednesday while in a convoy of the OPDS Commander,Rear Admiral John Okeke.

    According to report, the OPDS personnel,made up men of the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Navy, were on their way back from Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, where the Commander, Rear Admiral John Okeke.had visited.

    It was gathered that the initial report attributed the cause of the accident to bad road. over speeding and fatigue.

    Sources hinted that the accident involved a Gun truck and another vehicle in the convoy.

    It was gathered that the injured were immediately rushed to the Medical Centre in Onne and Military Hospital for further care.
