    Old students donate laptops to boost ICT knowledge in Kogi school

    The Community Secondary School (CSS) Ejule Class 91 Association has donated six laptops to their alma mater to enhance students’ knowledge in Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT).

    The laptops were presented during the association’s Annual General Meeting and End-of-Year Get-together celebration in Ofu Local Government Area, Kogi State.

    The outgoing President of the Association, Dr Sunday Adukwu Jonah, said the initiative aimed to boost teaching and learning, commending members for their contributions.

    Dr Jonah, a Medical Doctor at Federal Teaching Hospital Lokoja, noted that the association in 2021 donated books to the school library, and reaffirmed their commitment to empowering the school.

    He urged the students to take a diligent approach to their studies, obey teachers and parents, and eschew shortcuts.

    Dr Jonah expressed gratitude to alumni members for their support and collaboration, praying for increased unity and opportunities to do more.

    The newly elected President Prof. Friday Adejoh Ogwu, promised to build on previous achievements on his predecessors and address other school needs.

    “We’ve identified other needs in the school, and with God’s help, we’ll strive to address them in the next six years,” said Prof. Ogwu, a Lecturer at Nasarawa State University.

    The University Don encouraged teachers to remain committed to shaping students into responsible citizens, benefiting their families and the nation.

    He advised the student to work hard and stay focused to achieve their goals.

    Comrade Habibatu Shuaibu Onakpa, Treasurer of the Association, counseled students, especially girls, to focus on their studies and avoid social vices to achieve their educational goals.

    The School representatives, including Proprietor Representative, Commodore Godwin Obaje; and Principal Mr Shaibu Umoru, praised the alumni’s gesture and pledged to utilize the laptops effectively.

    Prof. Mohamed Onakpa of the Mass Communication Department, Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, has praised CSS Ejule Class 91 for their significant contribution to the school.

    He announced his intention to join the group, and encouraged other classes to follow Class 91’s example to drive further development.

    The Proprietor and association members urged students to be hardworking, focused, disciplined, and dedicated to their studies, emphasizing that these traits would help them fulfill their potential and achieve greatness in life and career.

    The school Headboy, Emmanuel Etunbi thanked the alumni for investing in their future.

    The CSS Ejule Class 91 Alumni comprises accomplished members in diverse fields, including medicine, media, security, business, engineering, academia, and more.

    The event included the swearing-in of new executive members, led by Prof. Ogwu as President and Comrade Habibatu Onakpa as Secretary General.

    The new Executive members are as follows: President – Prof. Ogwu F A; Vice-president – Sir Idoko Edibo; Sec.Gen- Comrade Habibatu Shuaibu Onakpa; Asst. Sec-Gen- Madam Charity Achenyo Inedu; Treasurer – Hon. Marthias Ayegba; PRO- Comrade Ele Abalaka; Fin Sec. Pst Monday Shaibu; Auditor -Madam Naomi Odekina.
