Odu’a Group Plans Oil Exploration and Power Generation Partnership in South West

    Published on

The Odu’a Group, under the leadership of Chairman Bimbo Ashiru, announced its intentions to embark on oil exploration and production as well as a partnership with the governments of the six South West states to enhance power generation and distribution in the region.

During a visit to Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Ashiru expressed the group’s commitment to revitalizing its investments and establishments that had been neglected. The decision to collaborate with the South West governments in the power sector was prompted by President Bola Tinubu’s enactment of the Electricity Law, granting states, companies, and individuals the authority to generate, transmit, and distribute electricity.

Ashiru emphasized the importance of augmenting electricity supply in the South West, which would subsequently contribute to the growth of commercial activities in the area. He also highlighted Odu’a Group’s acquisition of the marginal field OML 95 in Ondo State, showcasing their dedication to expanding their oil exploration endeavors.

Furthermore, Ashiru expressed gratitude to Governor Oyebanji for approving the Certificate of Occupancy for Odu’a Group’s land in Oke Ako, promising to address the governor’s concerns and ensure Odu’a Group’s significant presence in Ekiti State in the coming years. The ultimate goal for Odu’a Group is to become a prominent driving force behind business development in the South West region.
