    THE Kogi State governor,Ahmed Usman Ododo has sent three serving directors in the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service, (KGIRS) on compulsory leave.

    This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Head of corporate communications of there service, Muhammad Mukhtar Idris.

    The statement made available to Newsmen reads;

    ”In line with the provision of Section 8 Rule 020809, sub section (iv) (a) of the Kogi State Public Service Rule, 2019,_”a Director who has served for a period of eight (8) years shall compulsorily retire from service.

    “Based on the above provision, three Directors, namely; Olubunmi Ajayi, Sadiq Ibrahim Ohindas and John Salifu Ojonugwa, have been officially asked to proceed on leave given the expiration of their tenures at the Service, as has been approved by His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State.

    “Also, Abubakar Mohammed Bello, a Director under the Directorate of Administration, has been directed to handover to the next senior staff in line in the Directorate, by His Excellency, as his services are no longer required as Director at the Revenue Service.

    “In the same vein, the Governor has approved the appointments of the following as Directors at the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Emmanuel Yusufu as Director, Directorate of Corporate Tax, Alhassan Obansa Sanni, Esq, as Director, Directorate of Legal Services and Enforcement, Salawu Hassanat Enehezeyi as Director, Directorate of MDAs, Abdullahi Bilikisu as Director, Directorate of Finance and Accounts and Alexious Olarinde Akande as Director, Directorate of Administration.

    “Their appointments take immediate effect.

    “His Excellency thanks the outgoing Directors for their services to the State, especially on improving tax collections to a monthly average of Two Billion Naira (N2BN).

    “He wishes them success in their future endeavours even as he, in the same vein, congratulates the new Directors and charges them to improve the State’s IGR as they bring in their experience to bear.”
