The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has announced a change in the dates for the 2025 National Division One and Two League Final Phase for both male and female teams. The competition, earlier scheduled to take place from October 15 to 26, 2025, will now hold from October 22 to November 2, 2025, at the Umuahia Township Stadium, Abia State.

In an official statement signed by Mrs. Aliyu-Abass Wasilat, Secretary General of the Federation, the NVBF said the decision was taken by the Board of Administration to ensure better logistics and effective participation of all registered teams.

According to the new timetable, participating teams are expected to arrive on October 22, while the technical meeting and matches will hold from October 23 to November 1. Teams will depart on November 2, 2025.

“The federation is indeed sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused. Please accept the assurances of the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation and our esteemed sporting regards,” the statement read.

The NVBF, which operates from the Indoor Sports Hall at the National Stadium Complex, Abuja, reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a well-organised and competitive league phase in line with international standards.

The league finals will bring together the top male and female volleyball clubs from across the country, competing for promotion, national ranking, and championship honours in Nigeria’s premier domestic volleyball contest.

The Federation’s leadership, under Engr. Musa Nimrod (President) and Prof. Ebenezer Moronkola (First Vice President), has consistently worked to strengthen the national league structure, improve athlete welfare, and expand the sport’s visibility across states.

With the date adjustment, the NVBF expressed optimism that the shift would provide ample preparation time for teams and organisers, ensuring a seamless conclusion to the 2025 volleyball season.
