The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has asserted that Nigeria was grappling with challenges even before the emergence of President Bola Tinubu. Reflecting on Tinubu’s first year in office, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, the party’s founder, acknowledged that Tinubu was well aware of the nation’s crisis before assuming power.

Aniebonam emphasized that Tinubu’s administration recognized the urgent need to address the nation’s challenges, leading to the formulation of the Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at tackling them head-on. He highlighted the importance of decisive leadership, even if it meant making difficult decisions.

While acknowledging potential missteps, such as removing the corruption-riddled oil subsidy without adequate planning to mitigate its effects, Aniebonam underscored the long-term benefits of such decisions. He urged Nigerians to remain resolute and make sacrifices for the nation’s betterment.

According to Aniebonam, Tinubu’s leadership, along with his cabinet members, has steered Nigeria away from the brink and instilled hope for a brighter future. He emphasized the collective responsibility of Nigerians in driving the nation towards greatness, emphasizing productivity in various sectors and the need to combat corruption and public disorder.

Aniebonam urged responsible opposition, stressing the importance of constructive criticism and patriotism in governance. He called on Tinubu to prioritize meritocracy in appointing individuals to key positions and highlighted the importance of infrastructure, local production, and education in Nigeria’s development agenda.

Specifically, he emphasized the need for well-maintained federal highways, the establishment of national carriers, aggressive local production, and the provision of a living wage for the labor force. He advocated for expanded technical education opportunities and smart education initiatives to empower Nigerian youths for global competitiveness.

In conclusion, Aniebonam urged the President to prioritize the welfare of Nigerians in all actions and decisions, emphasizing the need for concerted efforts towards achieving the nation’s collective aspirations.
