The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has recently issued a public warning against the activities of fraudsters falsely claiming to represent the organization. The alert, signed by Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, urges both local and international stakeholders to be cautious of individuals and companies soliciting fees under the guise of arranging meetings with NNPC board members, executives, or management staff.

According to the statement dated June 9, these deceptive practices are unauthorized and illegal. NNPC Limited emphasized that all legitimate business engagements are conducted solely through its official communication channels or recognized business units.

“Foreign investors and international business entities are especially urged to remain cautious. If approached, report the incident to the appropriate authorities immediately,” the statement reads.

The company reiterated its unwavering commitment to transparency, integrity, and the protection of its stakeholders. It encouraged the public to stay alert and to share the advisory to help curb fraudulent activities targeting the energy sector.
