The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, has announced the deployment of modern equipment by the Nigerian Army to enhance operations against bandits, terrorists, and other criminal elements causing insecurity in the country. Speaking during a media chat organized by the Nigerian Army civil-military cooperation in Sokoto, Lagbaja emphasized the commitment to implementing robust strategies across kinetic and non-kinetic lines of operations.

Lagbaja revealed that the Nigerian Army has received new equipment and combat enablers, with some already deployed and making a positive impact across various theatres of operations. He assured that troops are well-trained and motivated, leading to increased operational tempo and remarkable success.

The Chief of Army Staff highlighted the need for a whole-of-nation approach, emphasizing that the collaboration of well-meaning individuals and organizations is essential to degrading the activities of non-state actors. He acknowledged the importance of military-media relations and commended President Bola Tinubu for continuous strategic guidance and support to the Nigerian Army.

The Chief of civil-military affairs, Major General Nosakhare Ugbo, explained that the media chat’s objectives include propagating military activities to the public and fostering mutually beneficial ideas through engagement with the media. The event is part of the Nigerian Army’s non-kinetic line of operation, promoting collaboration between the Army and the media for national development.
