The Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) has taken another significant step in its electoral process with the successful conduct of zonal elections across the country, producing new representatives from all six zones.
In the South West, Wuraola Hussaini emerged as zonal representative, while Onyekachi Ibegbulam will make his debut on the board from the South East. Emmanuel Godwin was elected from the South South, Salisu Garba from the North East, Aliyu Mohammed from the North West, and Pius Longman from the North Central.
These newly elected members join previously elected representatives, including Azeez Ladipo and Angulu Suleiman (Athletes’ and Technical Representatives), incumbent President Dr. Ademola Are of NAPHER-SD, Professor Modupeola Olanrewaju Banjo (representing the Association of Former Female Athletes of Nigeria, AFFAN), as well as a representative of NAWIS.
With the zonal elections successfully concluded, attention now shifts to the Vice President and Presidential elections scheduled for October 18 in Abuja, a decisive step in shaping the future of rugby administration in Nigeria.
