The Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening collaboration with the FGN Power Company to enhance safety standards, improve inspection processes, and ensure compliance across Nigeria’s electricity sector.

This was disclosed during a courtesy visit by the management of FGN Power Company to NEMSA’s headquarters in Abuja, where both agencies pledged to strengthen institutional cooperation in line with national power sector goals.

Speaking during the visit, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NEMSA and Chief Electrical Inspector of the Federation, Olusegun Adesayo, emphasized that collaboration among key stakeholders is essential to achieving sustainable growth in the electricity industry.

He noted that both organizations share a common national objective and must align their efforts to deliver improved performance and reliability in the sector. According to him, FGN Power Company remains a strategic partner, particularly through its role in managing critical power assets and supporting increased generation capacity and infrastructure optimization.

Adesayo also reaffirmed NEMSA’s statutory mandate to enforce technical standards and safeguard lives and property, stressing the agency’s continued commitment to ensuring compliance within the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.

In his remarks, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of FGN Power Company, Kenny Anuwe, said the visit was aimed at congratulating NEMSA’s new leadership and reinforcing the company’s commitment to closer collaboration.

He outlined key areas of partnership to include strengthening transmission and distribution networks, enhancing capacity development for industry operators, mobilizing financing for critical programmes, and improving coordination among stakeholders.

Anuwe commended NEMSA for its consistent support and vital role in promoting safety and regulatory compliance within the power sector.

He further explained that FGN Power Company was established by the Federal Government to implement the Presidential Power Initiative, a programme designed to transform Nigeria’s power infrastructure and significantly improve electricity supply nationwide.

Both organizations expressed optimism that sustained collaboration would accelerate reforms and deliver a safer, more efficient, and reliable electricity system for Nigeria.
