    NELFUND MD Visits Bayero University Kano to Strengthen Student Loan Implementation

    The Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, on Wednesday paid an official visit to Bayero University, Kano, as part of the Fund’s ongoing stakeholder engagement and institutional outreach drive.

    The visit is part of NELFUND’s strategic efforts to deepen collaboration with tertiary institutions across the country and ensure the seamless implementation of the student loan scheme.

    During the engagement, the MD/CE and his team held productive discussions with the university’s management, focusing on operational progress, institutional alignment, and strategies to enhance access to education through sustainable financing. The meeting also provided an opportunity to address key implementation issues and strengthen mutual understanding on the effective delivery of the scheme.

    Speaking during the visit, Mr. Sawyerr reiterated NELFUND’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness in expanding educational opportunities for Nigerian students. He emphasized the critical role of universities as partners in delivering the Fund’s mandate and ensuring that beneficiaries are effectively reached.

    The visit, he noted, aligns with NELFUND’s broader vision of building a robust, accessible, and sustainable student financing system that empowers young Nigerians and supports national development.
