    NELFUND MD, Akintunde Sawyerr, Honoured With Humanitarian Award by Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu University Students

    The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Educational Loans Fund (NELFUND), Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, has been honoured with a Humanitarian Award by students of the Faculty of Arts at Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam.

    The award was presented during the University’s 6th International Conference, held from 3rd to 6th February 2026, themed “Arts/Humanities, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Biotechnology and Human Enhancement in Nation Building.”

    Conference speakers lauded Mr. Sawyerr’s leadership and the transformative impact of NELFUND’s initiatives, noting how the fund’s mandate aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

    The award was received on behalf of the MD/CEO by Mrs. Maduabuchi Doris, Senior Manager, ACTU, and Mr. Olu Emeka Emmanuel, Deputy Manager, SERVICOM.
