    Moon Sighted In Nigeria, Fasting Begins Saturday – SultNigeriaan

    Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Sa’ad Abubakar, has announced that Ramadan fasting will begin on Saturday in Nigeria.

    Platforms Africa reports that this was sequel to the sighting of the Ramadan crescent in some parts of the country.

    The Sultan who is the head of Muslim faithful in Nigeria made the announcement in a live broadcast monitored by Platforms Africa on Friday evening.

    A member of the Caliphate, Simwal, has earlier stated that the official announcement would be made by yhe Sultan by 8pm.

    “With the approval of his Eminence the Sultan of Sokoto, the new moon of Ramadan has been sighted in some parts of Nigeria. The fisrt of Ramadan 1446 will be on Saturday. MARCH 1st.

    “His Eminence is anticipated to give a standard broadcast at approximately 8pm, Insha Allah. Ramadan Kareem,” he write on X (formerly knwon as Twitter).
