Labour Party flagbearer for governor in Anambra State, Dr. George Moghalu has dismissed as false and misleading news circulating in the state that Labour Party has collapsed its structures in Anambra into the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The Labour Party candidate in the forthcoming November 8th governorship election said the purveyors of the false news deliberately did so to create artificial momentum for unpopular candidates and confuse unwary teeming supporters of Moghalu.

The Labour party candidate affirmed that the party’s structure is intact and is united in its quest to bring the desired change Anambrarians crave for.

A statement signed by Linus Oguejiofor, Deputy Publicity Secretary, Labour Party, Anambra State clarified that the party is firmly with its leader, Peter Obi who is leading the campaign to takeover Anambra State in the coming gubernatorial election.

“Our attention has been drawn to a recent claim that the Anambra State Labour Party structure has collapsed into the African Democratic Congress (ADC). This claim is not only false, it is also misleading and a calculated political illusion aimed at confusing our teeming supporters, to create artificial momentum for unpopular candidates

“Let it be clearly stated that the Labour Party in Anambra remains strong, united and fully intact. Our party structure is not only operational but deeply committed to the mission of reclaiming Anambra for good governance.

“Our leader, HE Mr. Peter Obi, the face of hope and the symbol of a new Nigeria, remains firmly and rooted in the Labour Party. He will personally lead our governorship campaign, where he will stand solidly behind our candidate, Dr. George Moghalu, in the guber upcoming election.

Any suggestion of a merger or a collapse is a fabrication born out of fear and desperation. It insults the political consciousness of Ndi Anambra and seek to distort the truth for cheap political advantage

“We also wish to clarify that although the Labour Party is engaged in a national coalition for the 2027 general elections, this coalition does not affect our internal structures or governorship candidacy in Anambra State. Coalition agreements explicitly stated that political parties contesting off-cycle elections will maintain their full identity and field their own candidates.

“We call on our supporters to remain vigilant and beware of political merchants who are attempting to exploit the noble intentions of the coalition to mislead and sway the public.

“The George Moghalu Campaign Organization together with the Labour Party Anambra Chapter, urges the public to disregard these distractions and remain focused on the truth. Our campaign is built on transparency, service and the shared vision for a better Anambra.”Together, we move forward, undaunted, united and unshaken.
