Mikel explains why Chelsea should sign Osimhen: “He’ll break Drogba’s record”

According to John Mikel Obi, a former Chelsea midfielder, the Blues cannot afford to pass on signing Victor Osimhen.

Last summer, the West London team made an attempt to sign the Nigerian international, but they were unable to pay him what he demanded.

Osimhen has made 32 appearances across all competitions during his impressive loan stint at Galatasaray, the Turkish Süper Lig champions, tallying 27 goals and dishing out five assists.

Chelsea is still in dire need of a fresh target to help Nicolas Jackson, a Senegal international.

According to reports, the former Lille striker is not being considered by Enzo Maresca’s team for the summer.

It would be unfortunate, Mikel said, if Chelsea were not able to sign his countryman.

He stated on the Obione podcast, “Listen, it will be really sad if we don’t get a player who supported us as a kid and wants to play for this football club.”

Drogba is his idol. He will try to beat Drogba’s records, win us trophies, and put us back on top. That would be his goal, I’m telling you.

“Well, fair enough, good luck to the club if they decide not to pursue it. The good news is that we can actually pick up the phone and get him right in the door because we know where we left it. Bring him in!
