    Mass exodus hits Bendel Insurance as 25 players depart

    Ahead of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, a significant shakeup has hit Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin, with no fewer than 25 players being released.

    The extensive list includes long-serving players and key figures. Topping the list is skipper Meyiwa Oritseweyinmi, who has been with the club for over a decade. Other notable departures are Emmanuel Ugwu, Bernard Ovoke, Austin Ogunye, Moses Abioye, and Vincent Akpikpi.

    The full list of departing players also includes Richard Christopher, Dede Moughara, Edem Ini, Osahon Osobah, Isaac Annor, Abel James, Michael Enaruna, Stephen Sojde, Uche Collins, Zaidu Ayuba, Chinedu Onyejiekwe, James Oronsaye, Solihu Dogo, Amietimi Enewarikpemi, Ransom Mdasiri, Samson Olawale, Ogbonna Arinze, Mohammed Bashir, and Martins Owolijah.
