Many feared dead as explosion rocks Kwara community

    Published on

A suspected bomb explosion has rocked Woro community, in Kaiama LGA of Kwara State, with many feared dead.

No group has claimed responsibility for the explosion, although residents suspect the IED may have been detonated by Boko Haram terrorists.

Recall that last month, at least 75 persons were killed and several houses set ablaze when suspected terrorists attacked Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama LGA.

Following the attack, President Bola Tinubu ordered the deployment of an army battalion in the area.

No official statement has been issued after the latest explosions on Monday.

As at the time of filing this report, efforts to reach the State Police Public Relations Officer, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, were unsuccessful.
