    Man United relaunch Osimhen bid

    Published on

Italian Serie A champions Napoli are willing to accept €39 million plus Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United for the signing of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, according to reports.

The Red Devils need to bolster their squad after a disastrous campaign that saw them miss out on silverware and finish 15th in the Premier League.

Super Eagles striker is one of the players that have been linked with a transfer to Old Trafford in the last two years. The talks have even intensified since coach Ruben Amorim took over at the club last year.

However, the transfer is a bit complicated due to the money involved. Napoli have slapped a €70 million fee on the prolific 26-year-old Nigerian, and Osimhen is unwilling to reduce his bumper €12 million salary.

Due to their lack of success on the pitch, Manchester United have taken a big hit on their finances and do not have the money to throw around anymore. Hence, they are looking for ways to pay less for Osimhen.

In a new development per Fanatik, Manchester United have sent their transfer planning manager Matt Hargreaves to Napoli. Their plan is to offer Napoli €39 million and Hojlund in exchange for Osimhen.

Hojlund joined the Red Devils from Atalanta for €77.8 million, but he has been disappointing in his two seasons at the club, and that has seen his value decline to €45 million.
