    Major General Oyinlola Emphasizes Discipline and Character as Key to Nigerian Army Career Progression

    The Military Secretary (Army), Major General Folusho Oyinlola, has emphasized that discipline and character are the core values that set the Nigerian Army apart and contribute to its success in carrying out its constitutional responsibilities.

    According to Major General Oyinlola, discipline is the bedrock upon which the Nigerian Army is built. He stressed that officers must adhere strictly to the rules and regulations of the military, exhibiting self-control and obedience in all their actions.

    He explained that discipline is essential not only for maintaining order within the Army but also for gaining the trust and confidence of the civilian population.

    Furthermore, Major General Oyinlola highlighted the importance of character in the career progression of Nigerian Army officers.

    He emphasized that officers must demonstrate integrity, honesty, and a strong moral compass in their personal and professional lives.

    He stated that officers with impeccable character are respected and trusted by their peers, superiors, and subordinates, which ultimately leads to career advancement.

    In addition Major General Oyinlola emphasized the need for officers to have a clear career plan and set specific goals for themselves.

    He encouraged officers to continuously develop their skills and knowledge through training and education, as this would enable them to perform their duties more effectively and position themselves for promotion opportunities.

    Major General Oyinlola also highlighted the importance of physical fitness and mental resilience in the career progression of Nigerian Army officers.

    He stressed that officers must maintain a high level of physical fitness to endure the physical demands of their profession, as well as cultivate mental resilience to overcome challenges and obstacles that they may face in their careers.

    Major General Folusho Oyinlola reiterated that discipline, character, clear career planning, physical fitness, and mental resilience are all crucial factors in the career progression of Nigerian Army officers.

    He urged officers to continually strive to uphold these values and enhance their professional development to serve the nation with distinction and honor.
